I am really glad you "remembered" your process. Sometimes our hands and senses know something before our brains do.

Yay! You're so right about the post-baby blur, and how scary it is to start fresh writing again after that. Hooray for getting back your groove, and I can't wait to read the result! :)

This is a fantastic post. No two people's writing styles are the same. I thought I could be the kind of person who outlines beforehand. The kind of person who does a synopsis and figures everything out before I sit down to write, but that's just not what works for me. I have to explore a story for 20k words. Then random scenes come to me (but I still have to write chronologically) and only when I'm about 80% of the way done, do I sit and write up an outline to make sure that I've done everything I needed to do to get to the end.

It just amazes me that anyone can write out of order like you do, but it does produce amazing results :)
